Wraith Dreams – The Realm of Motion Picture and Impact

Wraith Dreams was conceived within the sphere of cinematic impact on the viewer: the visual identity of Norbert Zsolt Szabó (PFA), which interprets filmmaking not as an industrial process but as a form of disciplined artistic creation grounded in a sense of mysticism.
Its core principle is quality and aesthetic refinement. In Norbert’s work, international cinematographic and editing practices merge with precise technical mastery and a personal vision. As a result, each project seeks to reveal the inner logic, atmosphere, psychology, and visual potential of its subject. Here, the creative process becomes sort of a new kind of medium in itself, and the filming procedure a sacred experience.
Although the final quality of any production depends on available resources, Wraith Dreams transforms limitations into opportunities through artistic insight and technical expertise. Often, we achieve more with the same means than others do. The uniqueness of Wraith Dreams lies in its fusion of cinematic storytelling and precise technical execution.
Whether it’s a small shoot, a music video, or a large-scale production, I can help bring your vision to life through directing, cinematography, editing, and color grading.

Fields of Activity

Wraith Dreams covers a wide range of audiovisual production where cinematic vision meets practical needs:

🎬 Film / Festival

  • If you’re creating a feature film, short film, or documentary for festivals, I can help your production stand out through rhythmically balanced, well-paced editing, a refined color palette, and dramaturgically cohesive sound — ensuring that the viewer doesn’t just see, but feel.

🎭 Art / Theater

  • If it’s a dance performance, the camera will dance too.

  • If you’re recording or submitting a theater performance to a festival, I ensure the best possible dramaturgical filming, editing, and color composition. – Theater director László Harsányi Sulyom expressed his gratitude after Tango for the creative theatrical filming technique used by Wraith Dreams, which surpassed traditional TV recording (broadcast) standards.

💼 Corporate Content

  • If you want to reach new clients, I’ll make sure your video doesn’t just look visually appealing — it sells your message.

  • When presenting a product or service, my goal is to enchant the viewer through the story’s visual narrative.

  • I help startups and small businesses establish an authentic, visually professional identity that builds trust in their brand.

💍 Event / Personal

  • If you want to capture your most important moments — be it an event, wedding, christening, or any unique occasion — I ensure it’s filmed with cinematic precision.

  • If you work with musicians or performers, you’ll receive a clip that not only documents but creates atmosphere. If you’re an artist or creator, your portrait video will express your individuality and style. For international clients, I deliver content aligned with global standards.

Education and Professional Development

Norbert studied Film, Photography, and Media at the Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania, Cluj-Napoca, specializing in cinematography and directing. Philosophy

For me, film is not merely moving image — it is the visual embodiment of thought, emotion, and the relationship between space and time. Wraith Dreams seeks to uncover this intricate, sensitive process in every project — to find the form within the material and the meaning behind the form.
In Hungarian, Wraith Dreams translates to Lídérc Álmok – Ghost’s Dreams — a name expressing the belief that human existence itself is a dream in the eye of the human spirit. The wraith is a consciousness of a conscious agent, dreaming by a physical body, and every motion, emotion, image, and light is a fleeting moment of that dream.

Previous Collaborations

Norbert Zsolt Szabó has a solid professional background and an extensive network of connections. Throughout his work, he has collaborated with numerous renowned institutions and professionals, significantly contributing to his artistic growth and the quality of his projects.

During the production of his first feature film, more than twenty institutions and distinguished figures from Oradea took part, supporting various stages of the project — including K. István Szabó, Vilmos Meleg, Róbert Csaba Szabó, Lénárd Fodor, Olivér Oláh, András Bárány, Zoltán Mészáros, Zoltán Villányi, Tibor Nagy, and Marcel Florut, among others.

Norbert earned his degree at the Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania, Faculty of Cluj-Napoca, where he completed both Cinematography and Film Directing, with Cinematography as his primary specialization. He concluded his studies with the short film Succor (2019), under the supervision of Dr. Róbert Lakatos. The film received several forms of support, including contributions from the Communitas Foundation and the Kolozsvár Society. Both Liberation and his short film Mariann (2016) were screened at the social evening hosted by the “Kolozsvár Társaság”. Under his Wraith Dreams brand, Norbert also produced several videos for Péter Buchwald, the former head of the “Kolozsvár Társaság”.

He continued his studies at the Babeș–Bolyai University, Faculty of Theatre and Film, where he graduated in the field of The Art of Short Film. His dissertation was based on the short version of the documentary portrait The Oradean Zoltán Villányi, supervised by Dr. László Csibi. The film was originally created for one of Dr. Ábel Visky’s courses, but due to its success, Norbert decided to continue developing it, and a longer version is currently in production.

This project is particularly noteworthy for being a zero-budget film, meaning that the acquisition of third-party media content relies on the contributions of sponsors. The film has received non-financial support from several institutions, including the Roman Catholic Diocese of Oradea, Vili Apartments, the Szigligeti Theatre Oradea, and Magyar TV.
